2 days ago, it was one of my best frens bday.
We celebrated her bday few days in advance at Landing Point (Fullerton Bay Hotel) as she loves the ambience there and requested we do it there.
Haha.
So I guess she had a very satisfied dinner in a very nice place which she likes.
Shes gonna start preparing for wedding too.
Wish her smooth planning ahead.

And, 1 day ago, its my sis' bday!
Oh man I've know her for 26yrs and 1 day now.
Haha.
In the morning of her bday, accompanied her to do a checkup (so she lost some blood on the day itself).
Then she accompanied us by rushing to a quick fried rice brunch then MDW.
Sorry that the planned nice brunch @ Spruce didn't work out due to limited time.
However, we made up with a nice late lunch @ California (Dempsey)! :)
Nice food and long chat with her and him in a quiet place.
I heart this ttm!
Anyway, thanks for giving us a few hours of ur bday to MDW.
Hehe.

First Hit of the Town - H&M!

Soon Orchard Road gonna be turned into those streets in Europe filled with queues infront of fashion boutiques.
So many big brands are flocking to our tiny red dot home.
H&M just opened at Orchard Building and soon will be AnF at Knightsbridge (or something) just diagonally across H&M & Aeropostale at Citylink..
But I dun mind of cos.

I didn't want to visit H&M so soon cos of the scary winding queues since day 1.
But he knows I wana go there asap so he planned to have dinner nearby on the Sunday night, which is 2nd day after the opening.
I kept saying let's not go but he insisted to check out the queue before deciding.
To our surpise, the queue wasn't very long and moving quite fast.
We only queued for maybe 10mins or even lesser and we got to go in!
I wonder how come especially after seeing how the ladies in the shop filled up their HUGE shopping bags with clothes to try on.
And, by HUGE I really mean there are like thousands pieces in the shopping bag.
Even though there were alot of people in the shop, there were definitely enough pieces of each design for you to choose from.
Sizes seem to never run out and clothes were placed back to the racks quite promptly from the fitting rooms.
The staffs there are really commendable in their efficiency.
And, you won't feel crowded like you are in any other shops.
Prices were reasonable for some.
Like I got some pants at $20+ and some at $30+.
However, the dresses are easily $50 and above. :(
Cuttings really suit me which is around the average of an Asian woman I would say.
Come to design, I must say some don't really suit our region.
Too european.
And, some materials don't go along with our hot weather.
Still, its not tough to find things you like.
That is why I bought all the pieces I picked to try on!
OMG I cant believe it still.

When the hype dies down abit, its time to go shopping again with my sis and mum and friends!
I need to visit the 2nd and 3rd Levels anyway. :)

Can't wait for AnF.

At Times Like This...

I gotta continue doing my shopping even thou I dun have the time and energy to.
Cos this really makes me happier.
Thanks to whoever 1st started blogshop/online shopping.
I can't be more grateful to this dood than anyone else.
I received 3 parcels within 1 week.
The feeling of opening them and seeing clothes you really like is really wonderful.
Either work has make me really unhappy or they are really too pretty.
The latter I hope.
I can't wait for Sep as that's when I have more time and energy (I hope) to do things I like.
And, H&M is opening in SG on 3rd Sep!
Not only shopping, to see my nails being properly attended to and nicely dressed up cheers me up too.
Finally I got the time to do up my fingernails after 5weeks of gelish.
Can you imagine how long is that?
Can you imagine what has work deprived me of?
Haha ok this is exaggerating ttm.
BUT, I have never let any polish stay on my nails for more than 1month!

Btw, while drying my nails, I got some inspiration from Confessi (the nail salon @ The Sail) on how to do up my dressing room in duno how many years time.
The wallpaper, the lighting.
I even thot of the setup of my furnitures for the room.
NICE.

I shall continue to work hard, earn more money so that I can make myself happier while working hard.
No matter what, I still love shopping.

I can't help but to tear...

"Life is so fragile and unpredictable.. I had a neighbour who was kind-hearted and cheerful.. she looked after her slightly senile husband dutifully.. They were a loving couple.. The old uncle used to fall quite frequently at home and my dad and another neighbour would 'break in' to their house to help the uncle up when the old auntie was not at home.. Then, old uncle was sent to some kind of elderly home for his physiotherapy.. Every day, without fail, at 7plus in the morning, old auntie would bring old uncle down to wait for the bus that shuttles him to and fro the elderly home.. Ard 4pm she would go down agn and wait for old uncle's return.. old uncle nv need to bring keys along with him because old auntie was always there for him..

Ytd afternoon, it was the 1st time old uncle failed to see his wife waiting for him downstairs.. he took the lift up alone, came to us and asked where was his wife.. he told us old auntie might have gone to see doc as she vomitted in the morning and he didn't bring the keys out.. thinking it would be another 'break in' attempt by my dad, i continued to laze ard and play with anabel.. so dad brought a stool out to peek thru the windows to check if old auntie was in the house.. as it was too dark inside, he came back to take a torch light.. then, he spotted old auntie's legs.. she was lying on the bed in the room.. everyone shouted in an attempt to wake her up and dad even used a bamboo stick to nudge her legs.. no response.. from our angle outside, we could only see her lower body.. i shone the torch light, took a closer look and realised that old auntie's stomach wasn't moving.. sensing something was wrong, i told them we should call the police.. it was the 1st time i dialed triple 9..

while waiting for the police to arrive, another neighbour and mum tried to contact one of their sons but to no avail.. as old auntie was always paranoid, she padlocked the metal gate and triple-locked the door.. dad pulled out the window panes and stretched his hand in to unlock the upper latch and door knob.. he couldn't reach the lower latch.. we couldn't go in.. old uncle kept shouting old auntie's name thru the bedroom window, hoping she would wake up to open the door for him..

minutes later, police came followed by the ambulance.. paramedics stood outside helplessly as we were waiting for SCDF to arrive to break open the door.. i shone the torchlight at old auntie for them to see and they didn't make any comment.. i thot there was still some hope.. they started to question old uncle abt old auntie's medical history.. but old uncle was slightly deaf and senile, it was difficult to get anything out of him.. after much effort, he told them she had high blood pressure and vomitted in the morning..

SCDF finally arrived and began cutting the padlock and breaking in.. many kpos came from all over our block to see what was gg on.. old uncle sat at one corner and i stood beside him, trying to calm him down.. he kept saying how come need so many ppl to open the door, his wife was merely sleeping inside, can just use the bamboo stick to wake her up, why so troublesome now...... when SCDF finally broke open the door, i evacuated all the irritating kpos from the lift lobby area.. a policeman came out shortly and asked for old uncle.. i asked the policeman if old auntie was alright and he replied softly, "she passed away".. i covered my mouth and stood there in shock.. i couldn't believe what i heard.. i turned around and told my parents and neighbours the sad news.. everyone was shocked.. mum was carrying anabel and tears started to roll down her cheeks.. anabel kept quiet all the while and was veri obedient as thou knowing something serious was going on..

another neighbour came over and told us the police covered old auntie's face with blanket and old uncle removed the blanket and told the police not to cover her face as she was sleeping.. later at night ard 11pm, sis told me old uncle hadn't eaten his dinner.. we always heard old auntie complaining abt old uncle's huge appetite.. he just couldn't accept the fact that old auntie had left him behind.. he might be old and senile but he will always remember old auntie's name.. let's just hope he would be fine after a while.."

Scenes of auntie kept appearing in my mind since I saw sis' sms.
And, when i was on the way home I saw the tentage with lights lited up.
I really can't believe shes lying there when I last saw her still standing up beside the road.
I know my parents are very upset as auntie treated us very well.
Dad was unexpectionally quiet yesterday night, Mum's eyes were very red.
And, she repeated what happened twice to me w/o realising she was repeating.
Auntie bought us sweet potato soup few days ago and I didn't want to eat when mum told me cos I know its awful as she already bought for us a few times.
Now, even if I wana eat the awful sweet potato soup bought by her, I won't have the chance anymore.
And yes, like sis, I hope the uncle get come to terms with it and get on with life well.

Auntie, hope you are in a better place.

But when that Kenneth guy said he is calling from Marina Bay Link Mall, I was like "Be serious, this is no joke."

Fast & Furious 5

Im not into Fast & Furious.
I watched 2 of the sequels and only remember there were too much actions with the cars.
I went into the cinema with a bag of popcorn as Im worried I will fall asleep midway thru. :p
But I was quite attracted to the show.
I like Vin Diesel voice which suits his role so well.
We were saying he and Dwayne Johnson (who acted as FBI officer) look alike.
But I think if its Stone Cold instead of Dwayne Johnson, I will really be confused.
Oh yes I think his sister (Jordana Brewster) is really pretty and hot cos of her body and dark features.
Anyway, the plot is kinda like Ocean Eleven/Twelve - gather a group of experts to rob the rich who is the badass too.
But I enjoy such plot.
I would say the latest Fast & Furious is worth the amount paid for a weekend ticket.

Ah Ma has been experiencing pain recently.
Last week was her chest and after going for some checks, doc said shes fine.
Tonight seems like shes experiencing lower right abdominal pain.
And, she just don't want to go to the hospital after many calls.
Whenever we insisted she go to the hospital she would say she is fine.
I really hope she is now.

Although Im not close with LCG's dad, I did see him very often when im young and every now and then I will hear about him.
I rber he was quite smiley and friendly.
When I heard about him earlier today, I really felt quite upset.
Really hope he will pull through the difficult period and start to take care of himself more.

Uncle, I believe u wana see natnat grow up, go to school, get married and let u have a grandchild.
So take care and be strong!

Sometimes I find it difficult to accept when I see someone who used to be so strong and healthy becomes so sick and weak now.
When im young, I never think this will happen until it happened to ah gong.

Really Not Easy!

As some are aware, my Japan trip has been cancelled & changed to Australia.
We booked the air tics for about 14days just 2weeks (exactly) before our departure date since the Japan cancellation was too sudden.
I believe Kok & Esther are as panic & lost as us cos its a kinda foreign place & its a long trip.
Haha.
And, to make things worse, work has been damn busy that not only we can't surf anything about the trip we knocked off later too.
After back from work, totally shag to really do any research.
But we really tried our best and managed to came up with places and tours to go.
Up til now, there was a metup with Kok on Sat, visa (or rather ETA) settled, 1st Nite Melbourne's accomodation booked & also Great Ocean Road's hotel done deal.
Oh yes, we split the work and we will be planning Melbourne while Kok & Esther taking care of Sydney.
Shall see how it goes!

I think the footages shown on the news were the worst I have seen of the damages caused by a natural disaster.
Can't imagine how the people caught in the quake and tsunami felt.
If giving up the trip will mean no more death and sufferings for them, I would do so.

Of cos I hope everything will be over in the next few days and I can still visit Japan soon.

Weird MRT Commuters

I met 3 of them on the way home from work just now.

Commuter 1:
A lady sat beside me while waiting for the train and sang From This Moment very loudly.
I thot shes must be preparing for her banquet march in as my best frens sang the song during their march in.
When the train was arriving she rushed into a crowd near a door and stood in the centre.
Train came and I think before I board she already rushed (again) in and found herself a seat.

Commuter 2:
While Commuter 1 rushed into the train this guy alighting caught my attention cos of his top.
His a big guy and he wore a metallic gold long sleeve shirt.
Preparing for some ge tai performance maybe.

Commuter 3:
I was standing at a corner and while waiting for my game to load I looked up only to see another weird lady.
She was wearing green checkered long sleeve knit top with black stocking.
Her hair is very black and uber long.
As I was looking at her she turned around and her face is damn white and lip was very red.
I thot I saw Ah Piao (ghost).
She seems to know what I was thinking and wanted to confirm that by playing with her long hair and used the tail of her eyes to look at me.
I did think of taking a pic and see if I can see her in the pic but I don't think the faint-heartered me wana try it.
Sy said maybe shes preparing for Halloween.

This is the 5th time I got The Letter?

Before I got it, heard many saying its bad, its low or even its the worst year ever.
Made me start to think wat numbers I might see when I usually collect The Letter w/o expectation (but feel a little sad later on).
Im glad im the last few as many were kind enough to asked me to be very prepared and hence I really was.
HAHA! :p
Boss told me this is the worst year for me base on my past records.
My boss neh bluff me wor.
HAHA!
Increment was crap so I asked my boss, "Oh just to cover inflation ar?"
Thou I think its crap but Im contented with both figures since I trust my boss that it's across the board & I dun think those who complained during the 2 days were faking it.
HAHA.

Still, duno why people started to console me.
Haha!
Most of the time even if I think low I won't be too affected (oh, unless tell me like 1mth or wat I cry mayb) since I can't change it.
Once again, maybe Im easily contented but Im really contented.

But Ah Ma didn't wear the earrings as shes worried she will lose them! :(

Other than present, what about the celebration?
I think Ah Ma enjoys the chalet we had 3yrs ago.
I really wana do 1 more for her.
But when the family is big, there's always problems in organising events.
Mum's worried some who needs to contribute will find the cost too high.
I can pay for the chalet, no problem.
But there will be the food and drinks costs that needs to be shared.
And, Im afraid I have no time to arrange anything other than the chalet booking as I will be going to Japan for 2 weeks just before Ah Ma's bday weekend.
HAI!

Anw, I believe ah ma will be very happy to see all of us no matter at her house or chalet. :)

Ah Vel's Food Tasting.

Joined Ah Vel and her family for food-tasting at Grand Copthorne Waterfront today.
A pity Ah Kel cldn't knock off early hence Ah Chu gotta go alone. :p
1st time at food-tasting and its interesting I would say.
Trying to imagine next time when we go for ours. :p

After each dishes, we were to gave Ah Vel our feedbacks/comments/suggestions (if any) which leads to lots of discussions and digressions.
And, she kept trying to make her aunties and uncles take turn to talk instead of together.
Haha.
Kept telling me her family members like to talk together and she can't imagine when the chef comes in as he might be confused duno who to listen to.
Haha.
Anyway certain dishes like Pi Pa Ji is really nice but some others were so-so (esp the prawns since all are frozen ones).
We had to give our honest opinion so that the banquet dinner can be as nice as possible.
And, when I saw the chef I was like omg.
He looked so skinny and fair like will be intimidated by the 10 of us.
However, he is quite confident when he explained his rationale for how he handle the dishes and did provide some suggestions.
As for wine, Vel's relatives commented the house wine cmi.
I only tried their red which I tink is really awful too.
Didn't get to try the red wine her fren brought but the white he brought is nice.

Her relatives are very nice and interesting.
Can see they all quite closely knitted and dote on ah vel. :)
Some also talked to me quite a bit, especially her dad and this uncle's wife who also sent me home right to the carpark.
SO NICE!
Sometimes its nice to know ur good frens' family dont u tink? :)

Very excited for her wedding day!
And, hope to see her soon again! :)

The plot of this movie kinda reminds me of Life as We Know It, especially the ending.
No Strings Attached is about Emma (Natalie Portman) & Adam (Ashton Kutcher) getting into a sexual r/s without falling in love.
Ultimately, they did fall in love with each other.
Emma did not want to commit to anyone and hence rejected Adam.
And, when Adam gave up on her, she came chasing after him.

Definitely one to send u laughing every now and then throughout the 100+ minutes.

Im loving Tennis more and more.
Today we learnt Serving and its damn fun and funny.
As we are worried we will throw our rackets away.
And, knowing this, coach told us very long ago tennis coach really give students old racket to practise serving by throwing the racket at the ball.
Btw, he tied a red ribbon at the top of our rackets to see the move properly.
So pretty.

And, I just need to ensure I can concentrate looking at the ball before anything else pls!

I skipped dinner for a 3hrs nap but Im not really hungry.
And, I just had 2 Hershey Kisses, 1 Strawberry Marshmallow & 2 fingers of kitkat.
I suppose I will have a sweet dream tonite.

Braces for 6 more months.

Was really very surprised and shocked when dentist told me we are at the final stage and mite be able to remove the braces after another 1 or 2 visits.
She was so happy (to get rid of 1 more patient, hahaha)!
Initially I was very happy too.
But after a few seconds, I can't seem to accept this since Im already prepared to have it on for at least 2 yrs and now its only 1yr 3mths.
And, I was tinking to myself if my teeth and really straight and in the right place.
So I asked her about the 2 small gaps I have b/w my upper wisdom and molar.
She asked me to consider if I wana close it (since they won't cause food stuck as the gaps aren't that small) as it will take another 6months approximately.
Hence while shes doing the lower teeth adjustments I thot thru and told her I want to.
Rings were then placed on the 2 wisdoms and so now damn pain!
Like back to the very 1st time i have braces on. :(
But, I know it won't last for many days and will be worth it!

By year end, I might be able to remove them. :)
Which also means I gotta save more now to get ready for the post-braces work.

I mean more than the once a week tennis lesson.
And, I wana get back my tan.
Ok it was a did-not-last-tat-long-tan.
But still I want it back.
Oh god and Sentosa is kinda out of reach in a certain way.
If only i got the money to go for frequent weekend getaway at some nearby beach resorts.
How about settling for public pools like I used to go much before the "Sentosa times".

Anyhow, I want my tummy back to the flat look and I want to have a nice tan!

Last Weekend.

Madness.

Friday:
Peaceful workday until my teammates left and my trader did a deal which I have not really seen one with similar nature before.
Thru'out the day, felt the air-con was weirdly cold and I had to use my shawl to cover my head once again.
Wanted to have dinner at Tiong Bahru Plaza but left shortly after he parked his car, realised I was actually too sick to have dinner and hence left for home.
Rested until he was hungry, mum made him cup noodles and I drank the soup only.
I slept damn early and had to cancel the tennis lesson for the next morning. :(

Sat:
Slept until 11am (woo been long since I slept so well on a weekend) and ate putu mayam my parents bought.
Run an errand at 1pm then went Bugis for mani+pedi at 3pm.
Ended around 5ish and we went to TPY to have dinner before proceeding to a wake.
Some hiccups here and there but Im glad my fren is ok with everything (hopefully, haha). :)
To my fren: Hope you are coping well. And, we really meant well in case you still dun feel good about it. Haha joking la. Also, it takes time to feel the same after losing someone. Im sure you are doing well and will do better! :)
Immediately vomitted after I left the wake.
Btw, I vomitted in the rain with him sheltering me with an umbrella (looking away I suppose haha).
I was really thinking in my mind that I feel like the Merlion.
Haha.
Watched replay of Australia Open Men Final while resting.
Djokovic won! :)
Sleep immediately after that.

Sun:
Wake up and sleep, sleep and wake up.
That lasted until 12pm.
Kinda enough rest I guess.
Prepared to leave for qw & iris' wedding quite early as he and fren need to go to the banquet venue earlier to help out.
I went Marina Sq to shop since its really early.
Within that 1 hour, I bought a handbag from M)phosis for mum, a lipgloss as I forget to bring one (sian cos waste money) & mints in case I dun feel good.
It was quite a nice wedding and really happy to see frens getting married. :)
I think we slept soon after we are home too.

Mon:
Luckily we are on leave!
Woke up 10am+ (think I really had more than enough rest the last 2 days..haha) for breakfast and Shaolin at 11.50am.
Meet his mum awhile to take some stuff from her since they are too heavier for her to carry home.
After that I asked him go Uniqlo to help me choose one of the $19.90 (yes very cheap!) fleece jacket.
Not only he helped me chose one, we also helped him choose one.
Haha.
Can wear to Japan, in the office or go out.
So happy.
Maybe can go look for one more.
Oh ya, Gong Cha has 1 branch at Tampines (there got all the expensive bbtea- Eskimo & KOI too) so I bought Milk Tea with AiYu to try.
Kinda like the AiYu.
After that we napped for 1hr+ again as we somehow still feel the shagness.
Then was dinner at his home with his mum packing butter cake and coconut candy for me to bring home.
We dropped by 3rd Aunt house as she wana give my mum mandarin oranges.
End up she passed us 2 bags of mandarin oranges, 1 bag of a lot of misc stuff!
I tell you, my 3rd Aunt if the best auntie in the world.
HAHA.
Passed my mum the handbag when we reached home and shes happy. :)
Sometimes it just take a small gesture or gift to make your parents smile.
And, to see that, im happy too.
Anyway, after sitting for awhile, he went to meet Uncle B and fetched him home.
Really hope to see him soon again.
Hope he is doing fine and is still very healthy.
Uncle B, Happy CNY!

And so, after so much we gotta return to work tomorrow.
Haha.
Hopefully we will be told that we won't be on CNY duty.
Haha!

This show yet again prove that not all movie ratings/reviews are reliable.
Or maybe I should say not representative of the majority.
This movie apparently has bad ratings but I still wanted to watch as I remember there were some movies with really bad ratings but turned out well.
It is definitely not cos of Andy Lau that I think the show is nice thou its definitely cos of him I wana watch.
Haha.
Btw, I really think 十面埋伏, also starring Andy Lau, to be really awful.
Haha.

Like what my colleague was telling me, there are lots of instances whereby I would need tissue papers to wipe my tears and some others I would really laugh.
I really cry and cry!
Esp when Hou Jie (Andy Lau's role) was trying to save his daughter.

Motivation to Work.

2 weeks ago, J & me noticed this handsome ang moh from another department.
Thinking back quite funny cos we didn't tell each other thou we noticed him for half a day liao, until I think we were too sick of working or wat and I mentioned about the "guy in coat".
Im blind so I can't see his name tag but J managed to see "James" which I still suspect if its his name.
Then she started jio-ing me to walk accompany her to everywhere so I can see him.
And, will tell me "your james walkover liao!" whenever he walks to the printer area.
Finally I see a benefit for sitting near the printer.
Anw, after hearing him talk for a few times we think he is an English.
He is those matured mr charming kind.
And, he got those charming wide smile with wrinkles near his eyes.
He is quite friendly too.
He just look like some Hollywood actor I tell u.

Then on Monday I noticed another cute guy whom J also think is very cute.
And, I named him CAM - Cute Ang Moh.
He is the taller version of Arshavin!
TOO CUTE!
This one, J doesn't go "Your CAM..." instead she say "Is MINE OK!"
HAHA!
And, today while helping to setup something for the 5 BCP Lappies at some vacant desks behind me, I then noticed he is sitting just like 2 rows behind me and is in our department!
Anw, Im glad I got some return for helping others set up their lappies.
He is opp from "James", doesn't seem friendly but shy kind.
Totally quiet like that.
But wah he is only 20yrs old and leaving in 1mth time.
J damn sad over his age.
HAHA!

I was telling HIM about this CAM is here only for 1 mth.

I remember the times we snatched the only drumstick whenever mum brought us to KFC when we are young.
I remember the times we tickled my dad together to wake him up on Sunday mornings.
I remember the times people always say we are twins.
I remember the times people say she is the elder sister not me.
I remember the times we go ah ma & ah gong's house to stay together.
I remember the times we buy Ji Dan Tang and eat together.
I remember the times we go to the playground together after school during Primary school days.
I remember the times she patiently woke me up and we walked to school during Secondary school days.
I remember the times I scolded her whenever she asked me Maths questions as I expect her to know.
I remember the times we collect the bursary together.
I remember the time we didn't talk to each other for 2weeks.
I remember the time I bought her a pair of earrings she liked so she wldn't be angry anymore.
I remember the times we quarrel when one thinks the other wear her clothes more often then she wore the other's.
I remember the times we go shopping together.
I remember the times she began to wake me up with violence as she could not tahan anymore.
I remember the times we go night jogging together.
I remember the times we plan family outings together.
I remember the times she helped me with all the family and personal stuffs which I would be lazy too.

And, so after spending 25yrs together, my sister not only is married but moved out already.
Im glad we helped to setup the beautiful Master Bedroom for her and fy. :)
Hope our effort and the bedsheet we bought will help them to create a cosy home.

Please invite us to your house often.
Please jio me go out often too.

I have been waiting for 1year or more for my hair to grow to a length that I think will look good with permed hair.
And, it's finally the time and I did it!

Ironically, I waited so long my hairdresser say cut shorter a little will look better.
I said no not cos I don't tink will look nicer but I waited so long and she say too long.
How can it be right?
HAHA! :p

Anyway, I find perming so funny!
I got to control my laughter a few time, especially when this friend came into picture.
When the hairdresser was connecting some of the rollers to it I was thinking, "looks like some alien trying to capture me by sucking me up into the outerspace."
Then when she on it, the green lights appear I felt like some UFO taking off.
And, I really loled!
Luckily, no1 heard or saw it (I hope).

Then after the rollers were removed, my hair shrunk to a very short length and I took a picture and sent to him to trick him.
I asked if my short curls are nice and he replied with "OMG!". :p
Who ask him to keep dissuade me to perm.
Hehe.

As for the final result, the curls aren't those ultra big kind which I hope they will be, but I like the volume and the little messy feeling of my hair now. :)

Oh btw, the solution kinda cause my black dye to fade a little so now Im back to dark brown (really dark I feel but its obvious).

As long as it doesn't rain and Im "allowed" to walk on the street, I will be able to enjoy the morning and night view of the pretty Marina & Fullerton area.

I only started to really appreciate the lited night view and know how beautiful it is last Friday.

I was taking a stroll from MBFC to MBS since I had quite some time on hand.

It's good to have time so you can slow down your pace and appreciate everything nice around you. :)

Anyway, I slowly took a good view of this circle with all the lited buildings along the circumference.

How I wish I have a good camera with me then.

Since I joined, the shop has 2 contests so far - an item will designated and contestants will choose matching items for it to design a look.

1st item was the purple coach bag which model i forgot.

It's SY's BIGBIG DAY!
I realise Solemnization is really small compare to the Wedding Day.
Im getting nervous and excited for her and KH.
I guess shes doing her mani/pedi now.
Hope her nails will be very pretty. :)
KH posted in FB mentioning he is relax now.
That's good!

I just packed some things for tomorrow morning and banquet since will be kinda rush.
Gotta wake up maybe around 5pm.
Reach home after 1pm and got to reach the hair salon at like 2.30pm.
4pm or so gotta reach hotel.
So yeah good to pack in advance.
Prepared some of the gatecrashing stuff, hope will be fine.
Discussing with lili on one more surprise (if it goes through) for the couple! :p
If its ok, will prepare later tonite after my mani/pedi.

It'll be a busy day but hope everything goes well and the couple will have a great day!

BakinCow - Macaroon Lesson

Ah Ger intro BakinCow to me months ago.
After looking at the schedule and classes offered, we chose Macaroon held on 15th Dec 2010! :)
I took off just to go.

While waiting for the other students.

I bought her this Stitch Apron as bday gift.

I bought this myself at Chinatown.

Rber the auntie still gave me $2 or $2.90 discount.

Haha.

Our group consists of 1 lady and 1 Russian preggy.

The Russian is quite funny.

After mixing the ingredients, we did some piping for the macaroon shells.

Our group did Sesame (white color) and Chocolate (brown color) ones.

The other did plain (red color) and Green Tea (green color).

I love them!
A pity not done by us.

Most of them were piped by ah ger and me.

Some were uber small. :p

The fillings.

We did Lemon Curd for the Italian Buttercream or some long name.

The other group did Green Tea and Coffee.

Teacher prepared Chocolate Gaunche for us beforehand since that needs to be refridgerated for quite some time.

Peeled off the shells from the parchment paper.

The tray we 2 piped.

Opps! Tada!

It was funny when we filled our trays with the macaroons.

Each were supposed to have 1 row of each color which means just nice 4 rows of all the colors we did and about 4 of each color.

Ah Ger and me went to wash and took some stuff and were last to pick and choose.

And, Ah Ger only managed to get 2 Red, 2 White and 2 Green!

I donated 1 White to her and no1 volunteer to give up theirs!
Some even had 5 of a few colors lor!
Then ger said 1 ah tiong gave her 1 flattened green tea one without much filling one!

So bad hor.

Haha.

But ger picked more chocolate ones.

Anyway, it was quite fun thou I was lost at some point cos I seriously know nothing much compared to most of them.

Heng ah ger was there.

Haha.

Quite fun, hope can learn more tings. :)
I must have my own oven next time!

Rapunzel: A Tangled Tale

This tangled tale isn't tangle afterall.
Thru'out the show, I had a very relax mind.
And, most parts are quite comical.

However, the plot doesn't seem to be what I remember to be what I read when im young.
I only remember Rapunzel was locked up by a witch.
I don't recall anything magical about her hair.
But I still enjoy the movie. :)

Not Very Prepared!

Due to some unexpected circumstances, the bride and groom mus have quite a bit to re-arrange.
I am not sure how they feel, but I feel Im unprepared!
Not a good feeling for a big occassion like this.
Been too busy to really sit down and think what needs to be done.
Most importantly, hope the speech will turn out well.
And, maybe we can do something fun too? :p
That's if I have the time to plan, hopefully!
Still, hope they will shout if they need our help in anything.

4th Case :(

In just a space of 2months or so, this is the 4th time someone's grandparent passed away.
First was LCG's ah ma.
Second was Jo's ah ma.
Third was pne of Christina's.
Now Rg's ah ma.

It's not easy to accept it no matter how strong these grandchilderen appeared to be.
Hope they will be really fine soon.

Retail Therapy

It doesn't always work on me as what some gers say will work on them.
I think there were times I tried to use it to cheer myself up but ended up going through the motion to do some window shopping.
I think im just one guilty shopoholic, using Retail Therapy as an excuse.

He was nice to offer to go home to get the car while I go and shop.
Tat will be the arrangement going forward!
Sweet, still. :p
But when he joined me, I just covered one shop after shopping like 15mins.
Haha, so he still with me most of the shopping time. :)
Anyway, it was the first time i entered a MDS store and I bought a $42 piece of clothes - long shirt which doubles up as a dress.
Cool I tell u, esp with the stick up sleeve.
Then we went Pazzion to relook at the shoes I like, actually more of his likes.
HAHA!
Bought it after some encouragements from him, which resulted in me being $69 poorer.
I always say he is a bad influence cos he always encourage me to buy even thou to me is expensive.
But I know he dun1 me to be too restrain esp on weekends. :)
After that, we went to one of our fav dining place - Itacho.
We had our dinner at 10.15pm all cos of shopping.

Oh ya, I was so happy during lunch time cos I got lots of bargain.
I spent $90+ at GNC for Fish Oil and one more other supplement.
But cos Im a VIP, i got a bottle of Vitamin drink and a deluxe pill box FOC.
Then another Notepad for spending $88 and more.
And, the scb marathon race pack has this voucher to redeem one of the 3 items on the list FOC too.
Guess what, I had 3 of them - ger's, his and mine!
Hence, I got 1 piece of collagen mask for mum, 2 bottles of the "Zhi" for my dad and maybe myself it he confirm it tastes nice.
HAHA.
After which, Marina Bay Link entitles me to redeem a $15 voucher for spending $80 and above there!
Oh and a free wrapper too.
Haha.
And then, I utilised one of my Red Mango coupon so we had 1-for-1 yoghurt as dessert.
I love bargains!

Anyhow, bargains or not, its WEEKENDS!
And, Monday im on leave!

Yes I finally own one personal lappie!

All these years sis and me have been sharing one desktop/lappie.
Since the lappie we are using currently became hopeless, I have been wanting to get a new lappie - for less frustrating usage and to own one personal one for the 1st time. :p
I told myself to get one at the IT show end of this year, so I really got 1 at Sitex 2010!
A pink Dell. :)
15.5inch is good cos i can watch videos and view photos conveniently.
Thou I prefer the baby pink shade but Fujitsu and Sony is damn ex so i settled for the brighter pink offered by Dell.
$1,099 with 7 free gifts and 12mths 0% installment! :)

And oh yes, Im gonna go wireless at home too! :)

Good or bad day at work, I always feel good to return home after that.
Especially on bad days, I felt like Im protected and loved when Im home.

Pa and ma will prepare my dinner and lay the dishes on the table for me.
We will all sit together to watch shows.

I find this much more engaging than the previous one which either was too intense or just for those who read the books.
Thou I was lost at a few parts too, I was able to link each part of the story with different parts of the movie or even the previous sequels.

Happy 25th Bday Ah Ger!

Today is my dearest sisters 25th bday!

We had 2 celebrations so far (shd be all..haha) for her.
1st was for the 3 Nov babies - 3aunt, ah hee korkor and her.
Cake was Hazelnut Crunch from Swissbake.
Celebration was the usual - my house.

Yesterday, we 2 were supposed to satisfy our shopping craves but she needs to cover a teacher til 5pm. :(
Hence, she only shopped at Osmose and bought nothing.
Then LCG joined us and we had a light dinner at KFC before proceeding to Cine's KBOX.
Got LCG to buy a cake at ICING ROOM on the sly. :p

And, it was very funny!
We realised when they 2 sing together, its a total mess!

HAHA!

Halloween Getaway.

30th-31st Oct was in Batam with XN and PS.
Wanted to go in mid nov but brought forward to Halloween weekend.
It was a kinda last min decision to have a short trip but we were quite efficient, guess its really meant to be a relaxing short trip.
PS took care of hotel.
XN booked ferry tics.
Im responsible for booking the cable ski park passes.

We took the 12+ ferry from Habourfront to Waterfront ferry terminal.
Checked into Holiday Inn after that.
We were upgraded FOC to a suite.
Thou the hotel standard there can't compare to other countries, but we were kinda surprise to see the room.
Its damn big with 2 bedrooms, 2 toilets and there was a comfy sofa in the big living room with a dining area which we didn't make use of.
Before going to cable ski, we went to the Terrace Cafe in the hotel for lunch.
Food is not bad with great service.
And we love the free flow keropok.
Haha.
But bill was not cheap.
After letting our food digest, we went to the cable ski park.
Long was kind to charge us 3hours package and let us play from 2+ to 6pm.
We didnt manage to stand on the board but I believe we enjoyed it.
As for dinner, we settled in the park itself for its cheap and looked delicious.
Retired early to the hotel.
After bathing, we chatted as we watched tv.
And, for once after so long, I slept more than 10hours!
Shiok!

Next morning, we went to massage in the hotel itself.
Body Scrub+Full Body Massage at SGD80 I tink.
Also very shiok, esp the scrub.
Checked out and bought lunch frm Terrace Cafe again to eat on the ferry.

Tat's all.
Unpacked but really nice relaxing trip.

1111 is my 3aunt bday!

It was quite funny.
Ah hong zehzeh called mum abt it, I called mum & huifen to arrange a scheme to trick ah hee korkor come.
I emailed huifen asked if she can get ah hee korkor to come my hse tonite.
I smsed sis to tell her i wana buy some snacks home and check if shes home tonite.
I also smsed BIL to asked if he will be at my house tonite.
Plot: Celeb the bdays of the 3 Nov Babies in our Family!
Haha.

Hope they are happy!
And, the 1kg cake is damn heavy which almost caused me to give up on it in the packed train!
But I must say the Hazelnut Crunch from Swissbake is not bad.
Of cos la, $40 leh.
HAHA!

Now I feel like 18th Dec 2010 is this Saturday.
I hope sy is not too gan chiong but Im damn gan chiong for her.
Worry we might leave out some important things, worry she gets too nervous on the stage (esp if mr fo really wana sing), worrythe gatecrashing won't be as fun as we thot it will be, worry this worrythat.
After talking to BB felt better.
It's good not to be too detailed sometimes.
I have been telling myself these for last few weeks cos of some work and interpersonal (happening on others) issues.

This is our dinner place after he picked me up from the ferry terminal after I returned from Batam. :)
He has been wanting to try this very old colonial style of eating place.
Piertrasanta, which we had when we reached too late for Colbar the previous time.
Blogged about this too that time.
I miss their breads.

Cardboard menu which reminds me of report card.

$3 Ice Lemon Tea which is recommended by some.

Not bad.

My sausage, eggs, chips and beans.

I really love all day breakfast.

His pork cutlet (but not fried) with mushrooms and chips.

The mushroom sauce is nice, not one that makes you feel tired of.

Looks messy huh, but it doesn't taste what it looks like.

Their homemade chips.

I will try do it one day.

Haha.

Enjoyed the food and architecture but not the service definitely.

Kinda interested to walk around Wessex.

Starting to Love MBFC.

Whole department shifted to MBFC since 8th Oct, but I only there for 8days cos was on block leave.

Im one of the 50 winners to win a pair of GV tickets for filling in the survey form during the Open House.
I deleted the email til Laileng shouted from the back to inform me.
HAPPY!
Tat's one of the reason why Im starting to love MBFC. :p

I don't like the office for:
1) Long walk to anywhere, esp train station. Marina Bay might be near but the construction work areas have too many foreign workers and big vehicles.

2) Either turn til Im giddy in the underpass or walk under the sun/rain or in the haze on the street.

3) No cheap and good food in the close proximity. I hope the shops in Marina Bay Link open asap. BBtea, Ice-Cream, Toast Box, SaladStop! Slurp.

4) Lift operation. I know must remember which lift is shown on the screen after tapping my card as only that lift is designated to your level at that time.

5) My seat. Along walkway nvm. Just beside the entrance/exit and printers. How more noisy can it get. And, theres no privacy.

But I must say I do like the new office for:

1) Nice running route. Good sceneries always make the run seems shorter.

2) Tidier desk for me as I didn't unpack many things and trying to keep a clean and tidy desk from now on.

3) Windows and nice view. Total opp to BR's 1st floor. Now I noe if its rain or shine.

4) Big & Good pantry. Free tea bags & Coffee. Will be better if theres a snack vending machine.

I believe I will slowly get used to it and love the place more.

Nonetheless, just get the free movie tickets to make myself happier.

After dinner at Holland Village, went to The Daily Scoop @ Chip Bee Gardens.

First try and it was good.
I think its better than most ice-cream chains around.
Tried 2 flavours - duriandurian & greentea+redbean.

The durian ice-cream here is better than Udders which I felt it wasn't very concentrated with the fruit.
I always say Scoopz has got the best durian ice-cream since my 1st try there.
Now, I must say Scoopz found its' match - The Daily Scoop.
And, the greentea+redbean is very jap's taste.
Thick too!
The shop is generous with the ingredients which made the ice-cream taste so good.

IMHO, some of their flavours offering aren't as tempting as some other shops, but if you pick the one that you usually will go for, it won't go too wrong.
The Daily Scoop is more like Island Creamery & Ice-Cream Chef which has more of local flavours like durian, chendol and horlicks(not offered in The Daily Scoop I think).
It doesn't go for those fanciful flavours offered by shops like Cold Rock which is more American.
Price wise it is reasonable - $3 for a scoop, $5.20 for double.
I tink its cheaper than Udders & Cold Rock (if u get a plain without mixing with anything)?
Few cents more expensive than Scoopz.
I wonder if Scoopz is still around.

Work has made me so tired.
And I only returned from block leave for like 1 week?
How am I to continue til the next leave?
Damn it.

Worse of all, I haven got the time to pack for the Batam trip this Sat.
Been reaching home like around 9pm, too late to do anything.
Just now only managed to pack toiletries.

But I really appreciate my manager alot.
I think he knows im kinda sian with staying so late today so he kept asking me to go and leave the work to him.
Since I didn't have any appt of cos I finish what I can before I go.
I was sian cos I really need to pack not cos I need to work.
Looks like I have to forgo Friday night to stay home and pack.
That is if I get to knock off early.
Or if I can have Happy Friday, that will be the best!
I should have taken MC yesterday.
HAHA!

When you work in an international company, it is very common that you might not know how your colleagues whom you speak to almost everyday look like.

I like to try and imagine how people look like from their voice, casual chats and attitude at work.
I imagine this a new lady TA as those a bit stylo kind - wears fangdatong specs, short pony tied to one side, wear shirts, skinny and small eyes.
She said she wear those specs but smaller, longer ponytail & wear shirts.
Shall see when I get the change to meet her when she moves to MBFC.
Sometimes Im quite accurate, but sometimes Im like totally wrong.
Its interesting I tell you.

Btw, this lady can freak me out with her careless mistakes.

Parents & Camomile.

Finished 1st box of Camomile 2weeks ago after very long.
Since the 1st teabag from the 2nd box, each cup were prepared by my parents for me almost every night.
Thou its an easy action of boiling water and pouring them into a cup with the teabag in it, to me it means alot.
They know my new habit and when mum is tired, dad will do it.

Cos im gg KL for the very first time.

I have never felt so when Im going any country for the first time but today I really feel sua ku.
I went Genting like 4 times but I have not gone to KL on the way.
Haha.

No matter wat, Im gonna enjoy myself there with my 3 companions!
And, Im sure I will return again hor partner?
Haha.

I will come back as a non-sua ku!

Happy Wedding Anniversay to My Parents!

This is their...27th Anniversary?
Ya I think so cos I remembered they married 1 yr before giving birth to me.
Woh, they have been together for very long then.

Some of my friends still tell me they always see them going out together like very en ai like that.
Seriously sometimes I myself feel so too.
Haha!
But I do remember some of the bad quarrels they have many many years back.
Luckily they are still very well and much together now. :)

Thou sometimes my dad will bth my mum and keep nagging at her or scold her a little, at the end of the day, he will always help her to apply ointment when shes having aches.
Thou my mum will complain how naggy my father has became, for dinner she will definitely prepare fish and vegetables which are his favs for him.

I wish them happy together everyday! :)

Oh ya mum was saying I quite smart to book departure tickets to KL for 15th and back on 17th.
Cos 15th Oct is their ang moh's anni and 17th is their deng lang's anni, she said.
Haha.
But I really booked around 15th cos of their anni. :)
Hope they will huat at genting and enjoy all the food and shopping in KL! :)
